Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone!

We had a great Easter. Todd's parents came over, and we had some festivities at our house. It is so much easier when things are here... not having to get everyone out and about. My side of the family had Easter in N. Indiana.... but Grandma left the wagons on Friday. Everyone is feeling good.

Grey is feeling better I think. He is still not happy about his nose tube, but we are hoping in the next 2 weeks to get that out. He really ate well today, better than I have ever seen him eat. He was wanting baby food, opening his mouth for it, and really was happy to drink out of his sippy cup. I will go into all that at a later time. I don't want to jinx it. You all will think I'm crazy anyway after that post. Can you tell he was excited about his wagon with gifts in it? He also liked the ice cream cone bubbles that Gma and Gpa Maurer got him!

Owen is standing up in his crib now. He thinks he is pretty hot stuff. Super stud, was I think the term he used. Although footing is still getting worked out, an occasional bonk on the head is common. Notice he accidentally is wearing a #2 diaper?? A stray got in his #4 diaper bin... lol

Lilly has decided that she will never crawl, she doesn't like her tummy.... We're still working on that! She didn't really like the bunny ears, but she let us snap a decent pic.

She did like plastic Easter eggs though.

Sleeping is going very well! (Again.. shhhhhh, we won't tell them)

Here is a prize pic from today. Daddy was absolutely hell bent on getting an outside shot. We got them dressed, stepped out the door, and it started to rain. Todd would constest that it was not raining, it was "misting".... nonetheless it was cold, and there was moisture falling from the sky. We were out for about 2 minutes, literally. If they looked stunned.. that is because... they are. It is a beautiful back drop there in front of the irises... We'll have to try it again on a better day!

I'll definitely post more later this week. I'd like to get a basement blog in!

Brief update

Lots going on, just hard to abbreviate it all.

Grey has gotten glasses. We are slowly building up to wearing them more and more. (See the smudges??)lol He isn't all that thrilled with them, unless they are on his forehead, or in his mouth. They appear to help his eyes when they are on. His vision is actually good, it's what all infants have. The opthamologist says he is farsighted, which is common. But, since he has eyes that alternate crossing from time to time they correct the vision with glasses in hopes that the muscles will not have to work hard, and correct the eye movement. Let's hope it works, and he becomes more keen on the idea. He is getting 2 teeth at once, and has double ear infection, with a sinus infection to boot. He has a tube back in his nose, which I may, or may not have posted about. Its a complicated matter... but he is having severe reflux, and this is causing vomiting. So, the tube in his nose goes down to his small intestine and that is where his food goes. Feeding here does not cause reflux. He still has his gtube that goes into his stomach, and that I have draining out to a diaper, because he has been vomiting mucous from his sinus infection. The little man, is just a mess.... But, I think he is on the mend.

Lillian is sitting quite well, and has her two front teeth. She started babbling, and jabbering late this week... lots of ba, ba, ba, ba.... Owen has been crawling all over her, and she finds that less than desireable. I'm hoping she decides to crawl here soon. She loves baby food by the way. The little girl that you have to force her to drink a bottle at times, loves her baby food. We have started her on some solids this weekend. I mashed some cooked carrots, and she again, seems to love them.

Owen is getting his 2 upper teeth, and has the 2 lower teeth like Lilly, and like what Grey is getting in. He is crawling all over... and especially if there is a remote, phone, cell phone, or a cord anywhere near. Tonight he tried pulling down the fake potted plant I have sitting in the corner. I am seeing a few things going up high in the near future. He remains a silly little boy. He loves to smile and laugh.... I'm fearful he will be a class clown one of these days.

We are planning a 1st bday party. Brooke, which was Lilly's primary nurse in the NICU is planning the party. We are going to have it at the Hawthorne Country Club in Fishers http://www.hawthornscountryclub.com/Club/Scripts/Home/home.asp. (I need to learn how to post a link better.... )Themed Dr. Seuss, it should be fun. My goal for Grey is that he will be sitting up unassisted by then. I think we are well on our way.

Ferberizing is going pretty well for the kids. They go down fairly well. They didnt' cry at all tonight, and usually it is about 15 minutes they may fuss before they decide it is time to just go to sleep. They are well on their way to getting their own rooms. Our goal is to have Owen move out of that room by about June. He wakes Lilly up a lot, trying to pull himself up in the bed, and getting frusterated I think. He also has wet through his diaper and clothes a few times during the night. He then gets cold, and cries..... and then it's all down hill from there!

Todd has assembled a very nice gym in our basement... my elliptical arrived this week.... and after a long ordeal, the powercord will arrive likely in the next few days. I have 1 week down of dieting, and already starting to see progress. That makes me happy. I plan to try to start exercising this week as well. I really didn't realize how out of shape I was until we have have been taking walks, and I am out of breath easily. Before I was just lazy, but not really that out of shape. I think carrying the triplets, and months of bedrest, 2 surgeries, and lots of sleepless nights has really taken a toll on this ole bod..... That soon shall fade, I am determined!

Operation get my life back....

Well, I know it's been a while. A lot has gone on. Grey has been rehospitalized twice since his PEG tube. He has had some vomiting. Good news is that his tube is in the right place, it does work. He has great stomach, and intestinal function. Bad news, he has severe reflux. This reflux is so bad that it is causing him to vomit with the larger amount of food he needs to intake to maintain and grow. So he now has a NJ tube. This tube goes in his nose, and down to his small intestine. This is where his food goes now. In 1 month, he will go back and have his more permanent feeding tube revised, and it too will have a portion that extends down to the small intestine. This will allow his reflux to get better. Usually reflux is gone by the age of 1 year. We don't have much more of this. (Trying to stay positive for the little man). He also got glasses to help his eye muscles. His vision is fine, but since his eyes cross at times he now has some blue glasses that make him look like baby einstein... he is adorable!!! I will post pics when I have some more time. Lillian is sitting up, and doing so great. She is now sleeping OUT of her little nap nanny... and is a total rock star! She continues to do some therapy, and is getting so much stronger. I am hoping she will be crawling soon. She has 2 teeth, and isn't afraid of using them! Owen is a little stud. He is crawling, and is all over the place. Yesterday I went to get him up from his nap, and he was SITTING up in his crib. Time to lower the crib! They are both Ferberized for the most part. They have done spectacular at night, but naps are a little more rocky. They are going down at 8pm sharp, and usually will make it until 7am the next morning. Dr. Ferber has a modified cry it out method. I know there are many opinions on this. Some have said it "isn't fair to them", some have said it "causes insecurity, and fear"..... I've had opinions about how it doesn't covey love to them, etc.... Honestly, I've researched it for a long period of time, and we have had good success with it. Todd and I are very happy to have some evening to spend together, work on Grey's therapy with him, and just have some down time. It has been such a positive change for us. So, along with Ferberizing.... Tiffany needs to lose some baby weight. I've really struggled this year. It is time. We now have our basement finished. I will do a seperate post on that. There is a fabulous workout room. I am starting today! I'll try to post more. I really enjoy it.... Lots going on!
